Digestive Support: Labels That Matter

Affiliate disclosure. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Probiotic labels are the least standardised in the supplement aisle, so read them in a fixed order. First the genus, species and strain, written out in full, because effects are strain specific and a species name alone is not enough. Second the colony-forming unit count at end of shelf life rather than at manufacture. Third the storage condition and the expiry date, since a count that decayed in a warm cupboard is a number that never arrived. For everyday comfort products such as honey, the label question is simpler: origin, grade and sugar content. Pay for what is measurable.
