Sleep Support: How to Choose
Choosing for sleep is mostly an exercise in reading labels, because the mineral itself is cheap and the branding is not. Start with the Supplement Facts panel: it must state elemental magnesium per capsule, not the total weight of the compound, because the two differ by a factor of two or more. Next, note the form. Chelated forms such as glycinate and malate are usually chosen for stomach comfort, while oxide is the cheapest per tablet and the least absorbed per milligram. Finally, decide whether the jar is third-party tested and whether the cost per elemental milligram is sensible. None of this depends on a health claim, and none of it requires paying for a proprietary blend.
